San Clemente High Wins National Surfing Title
San Clemente High’s surf team won its fourth National Interscholastic Championship on Sunday at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point. The top-seeded Tritons defeated Carlsbad, 129-89. Huntington Beach finished third in the National Scholastic Surfing Assn. event.
UC Santa Barbara edged Oceanside MiraCosta College, 92-88, to win the national college title. Defending champion Long Beach State was third.
San Clemente Shorecliffs defeated Huntington Beach Dwyer, 92-90, to win the middle school championship.
