Heat Wave Leaves City Water Tank Nearly Dry

An emergency plea for water conservation was issued after three days of scorching triple-digit temperatures all but emptied the city’s 3-million-gallon storage tank.
City officials asked residents to stop watering lawns, washing cars and even doing the laundry to allow time for the tank to be refilled.
The city has adequate water available for normal use, but even with reduced consumption and cooler weather, it could take two days or more to refill the water tank, officials said.
