Police Seek Suspect in Supermarket Robbery

Police are looking for a man responsible for a robbery and an attempted robbery at two Vons grocery stores Thursday evening.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., a white male with a thin build in his late 20s to early 30s waited in line at the Vons in the 2700 block of East Thompson Boulevard in Ventura. According to police, the man robbed two clerks at gunpoint then fled to a car in the parking lot.
The man, was described as 5 feet 9 and 160 pounds, was wearing a black hat with the initials “CIA” in white letters and a dark jacket with black pants.
The car was described as a late1990s white Ford Taurus station wagon. Witnesses of an earlier attempted robbery at a Vons in the 2100 block of North Rose Avenue in Oxnard described the same vehicle to police. The incident in Oxnard occurred at about 4:45 p.m.
