‘Mathematica’ Exhibition a Blend of Science and Design

* “Mathematica,” an exhibition designed by Charles and Ray Eames that celebrates the convergence of design and science, opens Friday at California Science Center in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, and runs through Sept. 8.
The museum is open daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free; parking is $6. For more information, call (323) 724-3623.
* The Colorado Street Bridge Festival--a fund-raising event Saturday to support Pasadena Heritage’s historical, architectural and preservation programs--will have food, music and posters featuring the bridge painted by R. Kenton Nelson.

* “Restaurant Design: An On-Site Study Tour,” a daylong workshop offered by UCLA Extension’s Interior Design Program on Saturday, will feature restaurant owners, architects and designers discussing their concepts, designs, menus and atmospheres from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

* On Sunday, the American Institute of Architects/Los Angeles will host a tour of modern houses in Venice designed by Holger & Yuriko Shubert, Whitney Sander, Richard Clemenson Associates and Steven Ehrlich Architects.
