Man Held on Suspicion of Attempted Murder

A 26-year-old Oxnard man was arrested in connection with a beating that left a man in critical condition, police said Monday.
Police arrested Michael Cody Russell, who was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. He is being held in lieu of $1,005,000 bail.
Kelly David Doria, 40, who had been beaten with a baseball bat, was found about 2 a.m. Monday lying in the frontyard of a house in the 2100 block of West Hemlock Street in Oxnard. Authorities released few details about the case. Witnesses are asked to call 385-7763.
