From Times Wire Reports
A parole board has tentatively agreed to free a Sonoma County murderer who has spent 23 years in prison for killing his ex-wife in Petaluma in 1979.
Both commissioners who reviewed the case of Jimmie Dale Sole oppose his release, but said they are obligated to follow an order issued by Sonoma Superior Court Judge Elliot Daum that called for a release date to be set.
The ruling now goes to the parole board’s review committee for confirmation and probably will be sent to Gov. Gray Davis, Commissioner Sharon Lawin said.
