Torrance Bishop Montgomery forced 25 turnovers, and scored 28 points off of them, en route to a 65-51 victory Thursday over visting La Puente Bishop Amat in a Del Rey League girls’ basketball game.
The greatest beneficiary of the turnovers was Noelle Quinn, who scored a game-high 30 points for Bishop Montgomery (13-3, 3-0 in league), The Times’ eighth-ranked team.
Bishop Amat (14-5, 0-1), ranked No. 22, was missing three regulars from its lineup because of injuries.
The Lancers battled back from a 21-11 second-quarter deficit to take a 29-27 halftime lead.
But Quinn scored six points in a 9-0 run during the third quarter, giving Bishop Montgomery a 42-36 lead.
Quinn also had seven steals and seven assists.
Bishop Amat got 16 points from Chasmine Jones, and 14 points and 13 rebounds from Erin Myrick.
