Former D.A. Officials Suing Over Demotions
Two former top employees of the county district attorney are suing him, the county and others over their demotions last year.
Former Assistant Dist. Atty. Dan Lough and the former chief of investigations, Barry Bruins, allege violations of their constitutional rights and invasion of privacy.
Lough and Bruins were demoted after revelations that they had conversations with a candidate running against county Supervisor Jerry Eaves at a time when their office was conducting a probe into possible corruption by Eaves. At times, Lough and Bruins kept the candidate apprised of the investigation.
