Mexico Police Arrest Siblings in Trafficking

MEXICO CITY — Mexican police said Thursday that they have arrested four brothers--two Mexicans and two U.S. citizens--on a U.S. extradition warrant that charges them with drug trafficking and criminal association.
Mexicans Hernaldo Beltran Perea and Raul Beltran Perea, and U.S. residents Jesus Manuel Beltran and Rodolfo Beltran were arrested as a result of a U.S.-Mexican investigation, the attorney general’s office said in a statement.
The four--and two others arrested in the United States--allegedly belong to a clan that shipped an estimated 100 to 220 pounds of cocaine over the border each week.
The ring allegedly operated in the border city of Ciudad Juarez, where the arrests were made this week.
Since 1991, the ring allegedly shipped marijuana and cocaine across the border to Texas, Kansas and California, using hired drivers.
The men are being held pending extradition or deportation hearings.
