Government Signs Deal With U.S. on U.N. Court

The Central Asian state of Tajikistan has signed an agreement giving any U.S. troops there immunity from prosecution in the new International Criminal Court, a U.S. official said.
Tajikistan is the fourth government to sign such a pact with the U.S., which fears politically motivated prosecutions by the U.N. court, designed to try crimes such as genocide. The other nations are Israel, Romania and East Timor.
The U.S. is seeking similar agreements with all other nations.
