San Pedro Unbeaten in World Series Play

San Pedro has clinched a spot in the semifinals of the Senior League Baseball World Series (ages 14-16) with three consecutive victories in pool play at Bangor, Maine.
San Pedro defeated Canada, 5-1, on Wednesday, beat Russia, 6-1, on Monday and topped Florida, 7-1, on Sunday.
Yucaipa defeated Indiana, 11-1, on Tuesday, the second day of the Junior League Baseball World Series (ages 13-14) at Taylor, Mich. Yucaipa (1-1) lost to Georgia, 8-2, on Sunday and played Pennsylvania on Wednesday night.
In Little League softball, Palmdale improved to 3-1 in Big League World Series (ages 16-18) pool play after a 1-0 victory over West Virginia on Wednesday at Kalamazoo, Mich.
Palmdale defeated the Philippines, 7-0, on Tuesday, beat the Netherlands, 5-3, and lost to Michigan, 4-0, on Monday.
Glendale defeated the Philippines, 1-0, on Tuesday to improve to 1-1 in the Senior League World Series (ages 14-16) at Jeffersontown, Ky.
Glendale lost its opener, 1-0, to Michigan. North Venice fell to 0-3 in pool play in the Junior League World Series (ages 13-14) at Kirkland, Wash., after a 1-0 loss to Florida on Wednesday. North Venice lost to Puerto Rico, 9-4, Monday and to the Philippines, 2-1, on Sunday.
In USSSA National World Series softball play (ages 12-under) completed last week, the Thousand Oaks-based So Cal Millennium finished second to Ft. Collins, Colo.
