Go Wins Two Badminton Titles

Eric Go of Villa Park High won the under-19 boys’ singles division and teamed with Villa Park graduate Mike Chansawangpuvana to win the under-19 doubles title in the Pan Am Junior Badminton Championships on Sunday at the Orange County Badminton Club.

Go led an American sweep of the under-19 division. Villa Park’s Eva Lee teamed with Long Beach Poly’s Samantha Jinadasa to win in girls’ doubles and with Poly’s Nicholas Jinadasa to win in mixed doubles. Jun Hu of Alhambra Keppel won in girls’ singles.

Brendon Taft of Villa Park defaulted in the under-17 boys’ singles final because of back spasms, but later teamed with Daniel Gouw of San Jose to win the boys’ doubles title. Samantha Jinadasa, who won the under-17 girls’ singles title, teamed with Gouw to win the mixed doubles championship.
