West Anaheim Bounced Based on Tiebreaker

The West Anaheim Little League All-Stars (ages 9-12) saw their season come to an end Saturday as Western Region officials acknowledged they had erred in interpreting a tiebreaker rule.
Tournament officials announced Friday night that West Anaheim had qualified for today’s semifinal round after handing a squad from Aptos its first loss of the tournament. But a team from Taylorsville, Utah, protested it had been unfairly eliminated, so officials reexamined their tiebreaker procedures and decided that the Utah squad would advance on the basis of its 4-1 win over West Anaheim on Tuesday.
