University Group Urges Islamic Studies Program

A San Francisco State task force formed after a May 7 face-off between pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian demonstrators has recommended creating an Islamic studies program and sponsoring events to improve relations between the two campus communities.
The panel of faculty, student and community leaders also recommended that the school develop codes of conduct for rallies, including setting a minimum distance between opposing groups.
