A drag race on the Artesia Freeway late Tuesday left one man dead after the car he was in hit a wall and he got out, then was struck by two cars, police said.
Witnesses told police that about half a dozen cars were racing at more than 100 mph when one hit the center divider. Chad Mester, 18, of Long Beach was killed.
Three people were hospitalized, including the driver of the car that crashed, an 18-year-old from Cypress. He suffered major injuries.
