A woman who vanished before being indicted on charges of killing her Air Force captain husband has been arrested by federal marshals, who said she may have had plastic surgery to alter her appearance.
Michelle Theer was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on a federal fugitive warrant in the December 2000 killing of her husband, Air Force Capt. Marty Theer, in Fayetteville, said Deputy U.S. Marshal David Kingsbury.
Theer’s hair was bleached and cut short, and her face looked blotchier and puffier than it was when she disappeared from New Orleans on May 16, he said. Theer denied that she had surgery and said she had been in an accident.
