Contemporary Swiss design will be on display at a festival in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles on Saturday from 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Swiss landmarks, such as the Matterhorn, painted on backdrops by scenic artist Marco Schmidli, will be at East 3rd Street, between South Garey Street and South Santa Fe Avenue, along with a hands-on tile-making demonstration by ceramic artist Claudio Banzer. A custom office furniture design firm, dTank, at 912 E. 3rd Street, Suite 103, will have video screens projecting the work of Swiss architects, costume designers, artists and photographers. The store’s windows will feature textile designer Francine Lecoultre’s parade costumes. A $10 donation is suggested; parking is $4-$6. For information, call Thomas Nellen at (323) 913-1004 or visit www.alsoswiss.com.
