O.C. Arts Center Jazz Series Lineup

Fiddler Mark O’Connor will present a tribute to legendary jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli as part of the Orange County Performing Arts Center’s 2002-03 Jazz Club Series.
Besides O’Connor’s shows March 14-15, the series will feature trumpeter Nicholas Payton (Oct. 25-26); singer-composer Steve Tyrell (Nov. 8-9); the Pat Martino Trio with organist Joey DeFrancesco (Nov. 22-23); the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra with singer Dee Dee Bridgewater (Jan. 10); and vocalist Dianne Reeves (Jan. 24-25).
Also appearing: singer-songwriter Claudio Acuna with pianist-composer Bill Childs (Feb. 7-8); trumpeter Terence Blanchard (Feb. 28-March 1); pianist-composer Dave Brubeck (April 3-6); and guitarist-composer Frank Potenza and the Shelly Berg Quartet with saxophonist Red Holloway (April 25-26, 2003).
Performances are set in the 299-capacity Founders Hall, except for the Clayton-Hamilton group, which is set for the 3,000-seat Segerstrom Hall.
Subscription renewals are underway, and new season subscriptions go on sale May 16 at prices ranging from $335 to $357. Single tickets go on sale four to six weeks ahead of each performance. Information: (714) 556-2787.
