SUV Hits Power Pole, Closing Road

A man arrested for allegedly driving drunk smashed into a power pole in Calabasas early Friday morning, closing a portion of Mulholland Highway for over 19 hours, authorities said.About 1:30 a.m. Phil Lalove, 22, hit the pole with his sport utility vehicle, said L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Justin. No one was injured.
Mulholland Highway was closed until 9 p.m. between Old Topanga Canyon Road and Canyon Drive while Southern California Edison workers repaired the pole, Justin said.
Lalove, of Los Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was being held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
