Providian Financial Names New CFO
Associated Press
Providian Financial Corp. named Anthony Vuoto chief financial officer, filling the spot left vacant by the abrupt resignation of Jim Rowe in February.
Vuoto was most recently president and chief operating officer of First USA Bank, a unit of Bank One Corp.
David J. Petrini, who had stepped in from the board to temporarily fill the CFO position, will remain with the company during a transition period.
Providian shares fell 45 cents to $7.60 on the New York Stock Exchange.
