In other cross-country meets:
Yucaipa Invitational--The Yucaipa girls’ team defeated Chino Hills Ayala by the narrowest of margins in the Division I race.
Both teams tied for first place with 55 points, but Yucaipa was declared the winner because the Thunderbirds’ No. 6 runner finished 26th and Ayala’s was 28th.
Yucaipa, ranked fourth in the region by The Times, was led by second-place Vivien Aspden, who ran 19:06 over the three-mile course at Yucaipa High.
Sophomore Whitney Patton placed first in 19:00 for No. 5-ranked Ayala.
