Man Killed After Gang Argument at Market
A 27-year-old man died of gunshot wounds sustained after a gang altercation in the parking lot of a Granada Hills supermarket Saturday, police said.
Melisio Martinez of Mission Hills was shot several times in his upper body after he and three associates argued with four men inside the Ralphs supermarket at 16900 block of Devonshire Street. As Martinez and his group left the store about 11 p.m., the other men followed and one shot Martinez, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.
The gunman and his group ran away, police said. Martinez was taken by ambulance to Granada Hills Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
LAPD homicide detectives were still interviewing witnesses Sunday and had not made any arrests.
