The Bell Gardens City Council has voted unanimously to terminate the employment of Maria Chacon, the former city manager who was placed on paid administrative leave over the summer.
Under terms of an agreement that was announced after Monday’s council meeting, Chacon will receive a six-month severance package.
She was placed on leave after being charged with alleged conflict-of-interest violations allegedly related to her service as a city councilwoman prior to having been hired as city manager.
