About $14,000 missing from six months of ticket-sales revenue at the Irvine Barclay Theatre has prompted an internal audit and a police investigation, officials said Tuesday.
Officials filed a police report Monday saying that $10,000 cash and $4,000 in checks from transactions between December and early June could not be accounted for, said Doug Rankin, theater president.
Theater officials have filed an insurance claim for reimbursement of the missing funds, Rankin said.
Irvine Police Det. Greg McFarland said investigators have not determined whether there was any criminal action.
