Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested After Chase
Police arrested a suspected drug dealer Tuesday after he fledhis Van Nuys residence and led them on a car chase, authorities said.
Alen Amor, an Israeli national in the United States on a tourist visa, sped away after driving by his home and seeing police cars parked in his driveway, Los Angeles Police Det. Robert Holcomb said.
Amor, 45, led police on a high-speed chase on the 101 and 405 freeways. He exited at Sunset Boulevard, parked on Church Street and fled on foot. He was spotted by a police helicopter and arrested about 2:20 p.m., Holcomb said.
Amor was taken back to his home, where police said they found 30 pounds of marijuana, including some growing in the backyard; rock cocaine; and heroin. He was suspected of selling Ecstasy, but none was found.
Amor was booked at the Van Nuys Jail on a felony charge of evading arrest. He is being held in lieu of $40,000 bail, Holcomb said.
