From Times Staff Reports
A wildfire that charred nearly 6,700 acres in canyons north of Santa Clarita is expected to be fully contained today, authorities said.
The number of firefighters tackling the Stables Fire was reduced to about 800 on Sunday as low winds made it easier to extinguish the blaze that broke out in the Bouquet Canyon area on Friday, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Officials said the fire was 90% contained on Sunday night and should be completely contained by 6 a.m. today.
