Suffering Cell Phones

Re Ken Brock’s Oct. 7 letter on cell-phone use on aircraft: Having just returned from a trip across this great nation, the second most annoying thing that I suffered through, after the cancellation of flights, was the inane and constant blathering of cell-phone users in the air terminals. The only remedy available to me was to get up and walk away from the immediate area of that particular phone user, only to inject myself into the airspace of another.
This option is not available to me (or any other passenger) while seated on an in-flight aircraft. What can be so important to the vast majority of cell phone users that it cannot await the landing of their flight? I, being a fellow American, can empathize with others, citizens or not, who find my fellow Americans rude and uncompromising in regard to the personal space of others.
