A 16-year-old girl and a 76-year-old woman were wounded Wednesday in Lincoln Heights, possibly by random gang fire, police said.
Both victims were shot in the shoulder about 3:30 p.m. on North Broadway. Their wounds are not life-threatening, police said.
The shooting took place next to Gates Elementary School, where classes had ended. But the school canceled a community meeting on neighborhood safety, residents said.
