WASHINGTON — Shoppers here are getting a 10-day sales tax holiday to help boost the city’s sagging economy.
Through Dec. 2, the District of Columbia is waiving its 5.75% sales tax on clothing, footwear and accessories that cost $100 or less an item.
“This tax holiday may help bring more people into town and provide our economy a much-needed boost,” said Carol Schwartz, a member of the City Council.
