Airlines to Put Stun Guns in Plane Cockpits

United Airlines said Thursday it will install stun guns in the cockpits of all its planes.
United also said it is starting a special training program for flight attendants, aimed at both self-protection and assisting passengers. It gave no details.
The nation’s second-biggest carrier said it will install Taser stun guns, which fire a temporarily disabling charge, in electronically coded lock boxes. Pilots will be trained in how to use the devices.
