Newport Harbor Starter Sidelined for Playoffs
Brian Breland, a two-way starter for Newport Beach Newport Harbor, will miss the football playoffs because of a broken ankle.
Breland was an offensive guard and defensive end for the Sailors, the third-seeded team in Division VI.
Newport Harbor plays host to Ocean View on Friday in the first round.
