Solve Problem of Fish Contamination at Source
The story about contaminated fish (“While a Rich Source of Protein, Fish Also Poses Potential Risks,” Oct. 22) left readers feeling they can treat the symptoms but are powerless to “cure” the mercury pollution problem. Though the article rightly points out that modifying eating habits can reduce the risks from fish contaminated with mercury and other toxic chemicals, it fails to note that the long-term solution lies in eliminating mercury pollution in the first place.
