School District to Take Role in Pesticide Case
The Ventura Unified School District will be allowed to join in a preliminary injunction request against a citrus grower accused of allowing pesticides to drift onto an elementary school campus last fall.
Wednesday, Ventura County Superior Court Judge Barbara Lane ruled the district could take part in a June 7 hearing on the injunction.
Lane will take up a second motion at that time on whether the district can be heard in the lawsuit filed May 24 by the Ventura County district attorney against rancher Dan Campbell and his foreman, said school lawyer Don Austin.
