Coastal Habitat to Receive $1.4 Million

Efforts to restore the Tomales Bay watershed--one of California’s richest, most diverse coastal habitats--will get a $1.4-million increase from a state ballot measure.
Last year, 65% of voters approved Proposition 13, a $695-million bond aimed at a wide range of water quality projects.
The state Water Resources Control Board recently handed out $40 million in bond money, $750,000 of which will go toward the 220-square mile Tomales Bay watershed. Federal and state grants will add $709,000.
