Two New ZIP Codes Go Into Effect Sunday

Rapid growth in the Santa Clarita Valley has resulted in two new ZIP Codes for more than 16,000 customers, effective Sunday, according to the U.S. Postal Service.
About 11,000 residents and businesses in the 91351 ZIP Code area will change to the new 91387. Another 5,100 customers in the 91350 ZIP Code area will become the new 91390.
Postal officials said letters were sent to everyone affected by the changes. Major users of the postal service, including large companies, will also be notified.
For the next year, automated sorting equipment will properly sort mail with both the old and new ZIP Codes. After that, mail with an old ZIP Code will still be delivered, but it may be delayed, said postal service spokeswoman Terri Bouffiou.
