Homeless Woman May Finally Go to Trial
The trial of a 66-year-old transient accused of violating Buena Park’s homeless ordinance has been rescheduled for next week. Diane Grue, arrested six times on homeless charges, would be the first such case the city has taken before a jury. All others arrested on homeless charges have pleaded guilty and paid a fine or accepted jail time.
Grue was scheduled for trial Monday in Orange County Superior Court but was hospitalized. The case was rescheduled for Thursday but was postponed again because the prosecutor had begun another trial. The Grue case now may start as early as Tuesday.
