Youth Create ‘Voices From the Inside’
“Voices From the Inside,” writings, art and music created by the youth of Central Juvenile Hall, East Los Angeles Skills Center and Washington Prepatory High School in South-Central L.A., will be on exhibit today through July 31 at the Every Picture Tells a Story art gallery and bookstore.
Sponsored by InsideOut Writers, a group of novelists, children’s book writers and screenwriters who work to motivate and communicate with young people housed in Los Angeles detention facilities, the exhibit will have its opening reception on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Every Picture Tells a Story is at 7525 Beverly Blvd. in L.A. Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, (323) 932-6070.
