Allergist Testifies He Didn’t Slash Wife
Prosecutors in Dedham, Mass., sought to portray a doctor accused of slashing his wife’s throat as a man increasingly obsessed with a secret life of prostitutes and pornography.
Dirk Greineder, 60, a Wellesley allergist, insists he did not kill his wife, Mabel.
But prosecutors zeroed in on what they say was his motive: his wife’s discovery of his secrets which, if revealed, would have ruined his career and his relationship with his three children.
The defense claims a stranger killed the 58-year-old woman in a park on Oct. 31, 1999, after she and her husband parted during a stroll because she had injured her back.
