A 17-year-old was fatally shot and two other teens were wounded Thursday in what police are investigating as a gang-related drive-by incident in north Long Beach.
John Lomeli, 17, died at a hospital from gunshot wounds to the chest, authorities said.
A 16-year-old Paramount boy, whose name was not released, was shot in the left leg and remained in good condition at a local hospital. Jose Rodriguez, 19, of Paramount was grazed in the arm, treated and released at the scene, police said.
At about 10:50 p.m., the youths were in front of Lomeli’s home on East Harding Street when shots blasted from a “dark-colored, possibly gray four-door sedan with tinted windows,” police said. “We believe there were at least three different weapons used in the incident,” Det. Steven Smith said.
