Tunes at U.N. Are No Hit With Tunisia

There won’t be any more tunes played at U.N. Security Council discussions on Iraq after Tunisia’s ambassador put a stop to the short-lived practice of sharing musical favorites at the start of each session.
Envoy Noureddine Mejdoub urged the music stop “out of respect for those who live in unhappiness.”
The practice began after a British expert on Iraq suggested that each day one of the 15 diplomats play a song from his or her country to create a more friendly atmosphere.
