Lance Pierson, former coach at Palmdale High, has been hired as coach at Quartz Hill. Pierson guided Palmdale to the Golden League championship in 1999.
Peter Gunny, a former Granada Hills and Pierce College player, has signed with the Kansas City Royals. He was drafted in the 20th round.
