Man Accused of Tossing Dog Into Traffic on Trial

Trial proceedings began Monday for a former telephone repairman accused of throwing a Bichon Frise into oncoming traffic in a bizarre road-rage incident.
Andrew Burnett, 27, faces up to three years in prison if convicted of the dog’s death.
Burnett was indicted by a grand jury in April, and subsequently pleaded not guilty to charges that he seized the dog from another motorist’s stopped car and tossed it.
