Rebel With a Cause
Walking down Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades Thursday, as far from the poverty of India as one can possibly be, I saw, taped to a eucalyptus tree, The Times’ July 26 article of the death of Phoolan Devi, the “Bandit Queen,” and fresh yellow flowers were tucked under the article. I can only imagine that the person who made this small shrine understands the human need to remember the small who rebel against the mighty, be it in a small village in India or on the streets of Genoa.
