Regime Renews Call for Treaty With U.S.

Nearing the anniversary of the armistice that ended the Korean War in 1953, North Korea renewed its long-standing demand that the United States sign a peace treaty with it and withdraw its troops from South Korea.
The United States fought alongside South Korea during the three-year conflict. North Korea is demanding that the armistice be replaced with a treaty to be signed by it and the United States, excluding South Korea.
