Immigrant Bashing

I am always amused when I read immigrant-bashing letters from people with names like Scott, Dominguez and Mackenzie (letters, July 17). One of the things we require of new citizens in this country is that they pass a test in American history and government. Perhaps we should also require current citizens to take a similar examination. Those who exhibit an acute ignorance of U.S. history would immediately be sent packing to the land of their ancestors.
