Dealing With the Homeless

Regarding your article, “Homeless Seen as Prey” (July 14) concerning Ventura City Councilman Jim Monahan’s comment that the only way to protect the homeless who live in the area is to keep them out: Where are they supposed to go? And what better place to live has he tried to get them?
His reference to “these people” shows that his mind-set is like most who don’t understand or comprehend just what being homeless is like. You have to live it to understand it.
Hey, I have an idea: Why not let Mr. Monahan house and give shelter to “those people.” I’m sure with his large income, he can surely afford to put them up at his house.
