Subject of Jury Probe Seeks to Bar D.A.
A man being investigated by the Orange County Grand Jury in connection with the slayings of racing legend Mickey Thompson and his wife said the district attorney should be barred from involvement in the case.
Michael Goodwin, Thompson’s former business partner, is trying to get a judge to halt the grand jury probe. The lawyer said Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas represented Mickey Thompson’s sister, Colleen Campbell, in Probate Court after her brother and his wife, Trudy, were killed March 16, 1988.
Tori Richards, the district attorney’s spokeswoman, said the office has not been served with the documents and cannot comment on the specifics.
