Man Arraigned in Immigrant Smuggling

A 48-year-old Mexican was arraigned in federal court on smuggling charges stemming from an incident that left two suspected undocumented immigrants dead of heat exhaustion July 10 in the desert west of Calexico.
Leopoldo Perez-Martinez, suspected of being one of the guides, is being held in federal prison in San Diego. He is the second suspected guide to be charged.
