Animation Site Icebox.com Lays Off 11

Internet entertainment site Icebox.com said it laid off 11 employees, reducing its work force to 30 at a time the company’s funding is running perilously short. The layoffs of production and marketing workers followed a round of cuts in November that eliminated 50 positions. Santa Monica-based Icebox, whose site features short animations, is attempting to raise $10 million in new financing. A spokeswoman for Icebox, which is backed by online business incubator ECompanies, said its current funding could run out at the end of the month.
