* Leonard D. Schaeffer, chairman and chief executive of Thousand Oaks-based HMO WellPoint, has been named one of the top 25 managers of 2000 by Business Week magazine.
The list, which includes CEOs from a wide variety of industries, was published in the Jan. 8 edition.
The magazine attributed WellPoint’s success in attracting customers to its focus on innovation in product design. Business Week noted that WellPoint offers small employers more health-plan choices than other insurers do. In addition, WellPoint was cited for its strong earnings growth and significant stock price appreciation in 2000.
* Camarillo Community Bank has hired Jill Clements as an assistant vice president specializing in loans and credit analysis.
A Woodland Hills resident, Clements joins Camarillo Community Bank from City National Bank. Founded in 1979, Camarllo Community Bank has branches in Camarillo, Oxnard and Westlake Village.
